THE
LOEWEN DIFFERENCE
At Loewen, we believe a window should be more than just a
source of natural light and air. It should be a source of
inspiration. Which is why we go to extraordinary lengths to
make every Loewen window a work of art in and of itself. For
example, unlike other window makers, we use only West Coast
Douglas Fir in our frame and sash instead of pine. This
tightly grained (and
plentiful) wood does more than just give our windows a
richer, warmer texture; it’s also naturally tough and
resilient, yet exceptionally workable. Meaning it’s ideal
for precision milling and capable of holding the smallest,
most intricate detailing. Perhaps the most important
distinguishing feature of our windows, however, is the
artistry and obsessive perfectionism of the people who craft
them. In their skilled hands (aided by the most advanced
production technology available), wood, metal and glass
somehow magically meld,
flow and even soar. Consequently, Loewen windows look and
feel more like fine furniture
than they do a merely functional item. Which means you may
have trouble deciding which is more inspiring: the view
outside your windows, or the windows themselves.

LIVING FINISHES IN COPPER AND BRONZE
Aes Cyprium was the name ancient Romans gave to the copper
that was first mined in Cyprus. Evocative of an element
discovered in antiquity and used by artisans to create
objects of lasting beauty, the Cyprium Collection features
copper and bronze clad windows and doors that are unique in
profile and construction.
The Cyprium Collection is artisanal in detail – down to the
soldered exterior joints and rich, tactile depth of texture
in the thick metal cladding. These hand-wrought living
surfaces develop distin ctive patinas that both adopt and
define the individual aesthetic character of the homes to
which they belong.
COPPER AND BRONZE CLADDING SYSTEM
The Cyprium Collection is available in Awning, Casement,
Terrace Door, Picture and Specialty. Nominal .040” thick
copper and bronze is used to craft a cladding of exceptional
strength for sash and frame segments as well as Simulated
Divided Lite bars.
A palette of custom patinas is available within the
Collection.
