National building codes have changed, requiring all fenestration products (windows and doors) perform to higher standards than before. Additionally, many local municipalities have adopted code requirements exceeding these national standards. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in conjunction with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is sponsoring the Energy Star Program in an effort to reduce nationwide energy consumption. The DuraTrust is designed to meet and exceed these new requirements as well as the needs of today's builder and homeowner.

The heavy-duty 3-1/4" master frame has steel reinforced meeting rails, a double wall interior dam leg and a DP-35 rating, "right out of the box". With the inclusion of AFG's Comfort Ti-R LowE glass, the DuraTrust product is Energy Star approved. Additional reinforcement will upgrade the DuraTrust to a DP-50 rating, required by many coastal area building codes.

The DuraTrust has the look of a classic wood window with performance and low maintenance benefits found only in vinyl. Upgraded fin-seal weather-stripping is used to reduce air leaks and prevent wind and water from entering the home. The DuraTrust window features a Block & Tackle balance system, which provides remarkably smooth sash operation and also eliminates the problems created by job-site dirt and dust that causes other balance systems to fail.

Continuous master frame in all twin and triple units.

Designed for strength, performance and durability, the master frame used for multiple units features a continuous head and sill secured with an internal structural mullion(s). All combination units are factory mulled together to reduce the possibility of water or air leakage long after the units have been installed.

Heavy-duty extruded aluminum screen resist dents and is designed with integrated pull-tabs for easy installation and removal.

We've even wept the screen, allowing water to simply run off, away from the unit, preventing water build up on the sill.

3. Recessed tilt latches keep view unobstructed and allow sashes to tilt in for easy cleaning.
4. Low profile, decorative lock and keeper help to ensure your security and maintain consistent sash to-sash contact. Double locks are standard on all units over 25 3/4" wide.
5. Block & Tackle balance system provides smooth and easy sash operation and never needs adjustment.
6. Steel reinforced, integral interlocking meeting rail combined with dual weather-stripping provides a strong, positive seal preventing water, air and dust infiltration. The DP-50 upgrade will reinforce the bottom lift rail and all stiles.
7. 7/8" insulated glass airspace provides optimal thermal efficiency. With the inclusion of AFG's
Comfort Ti-R™ LowE, all DuraTrust windows are Energy Star approved. Double strength glass is
standard in all DP-50 units.
8. PPG's Intercept® "Warm-Edge" spacer offers improved edge-of-glass temperature compared to
traditional aluminum or steel spacer. Additional benefits include reduced interior condensation,
warmer interior glass surface temperature and improved insulated glass life.
9. Integral lift rail allows bottom sash to be raised and lowered easily.
10. 1" fully welded double wall interior dam leg with fin-seal weather-stripping for improved strength and optimal air and water performance.
11. Welded multi-chambered sloped sill design provides strength and improved performance as well as a classic wood window appearance.
12. External glazing provides a smooth, continuous, pleasing appearance when viewed from the inside of the home.
13. Integral J-channel and nailing fin simplifies window installation and siding installation.
14. An interior and hidden exterior accessory groove accommodate a number of profiles for easy
installation including optional 4-9/16" & 6-9/16" factory applied extension jambs.

PPG Glass Technology
PPG's Intercept® "Warm-Edge" Spacer features a one piece tin-plated U-Channel design that creates an effective thermal barrier to help reduce conducted heat loss through the window. Intercept's® U-Channel design provides an improvement of better than 32% in the Edge of Glass U-Value and 10% improvement in overall window U-Value verses conventional insulated glass units using an aluminum or steel spacer.
